Week 2 – MBA 6601 – AI and Guerilla Marketing
According to Levinson &
Levinson (2007), in today’s business world competition is more sophisticated,
smarter, and aggressive than ever before (p. 11). Guerilla marketing is needed
for small business owners and entrepreneurs. However, AI will also be needed
along with guerilla marketing. As competition becomes fiercer, business owners
will need to be able to make quick decisions to compete with competitors in
their local community, as well as compete with larger companies. For small
companies to compete with their competitors, owners need to use all guerilla
marketing tools and techniques. There are several challenges with trying to use
all the tools and techniques of the guerilla marketing method. The biggest
challenge is that many small companies suffer from resource poverty (p. 16). I
believe there are two resources that small companies can be lacking in, time
and funds.
Depending on the entrepreneur and
business owner, they may not have the time to analyze their marketing data or
to gather the data. Small business owners have to wear several hats and focus
on different areas of business to ensure everything is running smoothly. For
example, if a company uses websites, email marketing, and online advertisement,
it may be difficult for the owner to look at all the data and determine if
those methods are helping the company generate sales. Using AI, can save the
owner time and make a quicker decision if they stop using the method and think
of implementing a different marketing method. If the owner is unaware of other
marketing methods, then they can use programs like ChatGPT to assist in other
marketing methods that can be used. For example, if a toy company wants to
create an anime collectible toy, here are some of ChatGPT suggestions for
marketing ideas to promote a collectible toy:
·
Limited
Edition Releases
o Exclusive Variants: Release limited edition versions
with unique features, such as different colors or accessories, to create a
sense of urgency and exclusivity.
o Seasonal Themes: Tie releases to specific seasons
or holidays, like a winter-themed edition for the holidays or a summer-themed
one for mid-year.
·
Collaborations
and Partnerships
o Anime Conventions: Partner with anime conventions to
showcase the toys and offer exclusive convention-only variants.
o Anime Influencers: Collaborate with popular anime
influencers and YouTubers to unbox and review the toys, reaching a dedicated
fan base.
·
Retail
and Online Store Strategies
o Pop-Up Shops: Set up pop-up shops in major
cities or at anime events to create buzz and provide hands-on experiences with
the toys.
o E-commerce Exclusives: Offer exclusive online-only toys
or bundles to drive traffic to your website.
Implementing a mix of these
strategies can help create a strong marketing presence and engage your target
audience effectively (OpenAI, 2024).
As we can see from the suggestion above, these marketing methods are very useful and can be implemented by small business owners. If the owner has additional questions, they can ask ChatGPT further questions. There are AI programs that business owners can use to help their marketing strategy to be proficient.
The final challenge for a business owner to face is a lack of capital to implement various marketing strategies. Fortunately, for small companies, AI can also assist in implementing marketing strategies. Business owners can automate certain marketing tasks, such as email welcoming new customers or emailing new sales promotions (Davenport et al., 2021). The automation of certain tasks can help companies to send out emails more consistently, while not needing to hire new employees to handle these tasks. However, if you do not want to use it to automate certain tasks. Owners can still use ChatGPT to analyze their sales, clicks, and reviews for only $20 a month. With ChatGPT analysis tools, a company can see which strategies are working and which ones are not. This will allow owners to adjust their strategy or pivot to a new strategy that will be suited to what they are trying to promote. There are AI programs that owners can use to improve their results and bottom line at a reasonable price.
