Week 1 – MBA 6601 – Versatility of AI

(OpenAI, 2024).

The versatility of AI is incredible and can elevate businesses in their day-to-day task. AI programs like ChatGPT can assist individuals and small businesses. For example, ChatGPT can explain certain topics more concisely and simply. So, an individual who wants to start their own business can ask ChatGPT what strategies they can implement. It is up to the individual to take action for the strategy to be implemented or learn different kinds of strategies and implement certain aspects of the strategies. AI programs can also help individuals tailor their resumes for a job they want to apply for or create images they want to use in a blog or art piece.

(OpenAI, 2024).

AI like ChatGPT is beneficial for businesses that do not have the manpower or the budget to increase their workforce. Companies that code programs for other companies can utilize ChatGPT to create codes or assist in fixing/correcting codes for them. The utilization of programs like ChatGPT can release the burden and stress that programmers endure when it comes to meeting the deadlines of the project. Large companies can also utilize AI to analyze large datasets of their past products to come up with new ideas on how to market their new product and features that should be included. However, individuals and organizations can use AI to analyze datasets to see trends that can help them pivot their plans/strategies to be prepared for upcoming changes. For example, during the great recession in 2009, Kelsey (2018) used Google trends and saw that digital marketing was growing, so he decided to pivot and learn about digital marketing (pg. 8). Individuals can benefit from this, as it can provide them to learn skills and gained knowledge to become desirable for companies to hire them. As for companies, they can use the trends to benefit themselves. For example, when digital marketing was trending positively, so was Facebook (Kelsey, 2018). This can be because Facebook has a large user base and data information on each user. Facebook can sell that information to companies that target specific potential customers to look at their products. This is a great example of using AI to analyze large data of trends and users that individuals and organizations can benefit from.

Although I believe AI should be utilized by individuals and organizations, we must double-check the work of the AI and the information it provides to us. Like anything else, the program is bound to get some information incorrect or possibly make a mistake in their work. Because of this, I do not believe that AI will eliminate certain jobs, but will make it more competitive as there will be limited positions to fill in. People will still need to double-check the information and make sure everything is correct.
